Return Walls « Back

On some dormer windows the window frames are tight up against the cheek walls to maximise the window and achieve as much light as possible of if the window is a defined size it keeps the width of the dormer to a minimum, in turn reducing the overall height of the dormer.

However, the alternative is to have a cheek return wall which gives the opportunity to fit angled corner tiles onto the exterior of the dormer and internally allows for any curtains to hang back beyond the window aperture.  This then gives a less cramp appearance from the inside.

If you decide on return walls the measurement required within the drop down box would be the size you require internally from the cheek to the edge of the window frame.
